Police for Edo State don arrest three suspected kidnappers, including one man wey come from Niger Republic, as part of operation to clear criminal gangs wey dey disturb residents for the state.

According to reports from Punch Newspapers and Daily Post Nigeria, police operatives carry out intelligence-led operation for some communities wey don record several kidnapping cases. Na during the operation dem take arrest the suspects.

Police talk say the suspects dey linked to one kidnapping syndicate wey don dey operate for the area for some time. One of the suspects, wey be 28-year-old Nigerien, allegedly fall for police hand after security agents track am through surveillance.

Reports also talk say during the raid, police clash with some members of the gang for bush area. One suspect reportedly die during the gun battle while other members of the gang run away with gunshot wounds.

Items like guns and ammunition wey criminals dey use for kidnapping operations were also recovered from the scene.

Police authorities say investigation still dey continue as dem dey hunt other gang members wey escape, promising residents of Benin City and surrounding communities say security operations go continue until dem flush out kidnappers from the state.
