Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) don uncover one alleged fake university for Badagry area of Lagos State, as dem rescue 106 young people wey bin dey receive lectures for the illegal institution.

According to the NSCDC, operatives storm the premises after intelligence report expose say the so-called university dey operate without government approval, dey allegedly deceive students and collect money from dem with promises of fake certificates.

The corps talk say the rescued youths, many of whom believe say dem dey attend a genuine higher institution, don dey cooperate with investigators as authorities try uncover the people behind the alleged scam.

The operation don shock many Nigerians, especially as the fake institution reportedly dey run for some time before security agencies finally uncover am.

As reported by The Punch, NSCDC say the raid na part of efforts to clamp down on illegal schools and fake institutions wey dey exploit desperate students and parents across the country. The agency add say investigations don begin to identify and arrest everybody wey get hand for the alleged fraud.

Daily Trust also report say the command warn Nigerians to always verify the accreditation status of any university through the National Universities Commission (NUC) before paying fees or accepting admission, stressing say fake institutions continue to pose serious danger to the country’s education system.

Similarly, Channels Television don report in previous investigations say security agencies and the NUC don repeatedly uncover illegal tertiary institutions wey issue fake degrees and certificates to unsuspecting students.

Meanwhile, NSCDC assure members of the public say anybody wey involve for the alleged fake university go face the full weight of the law, while the rescued students go receive necessary guidance as investigation into the matter continues.
