Lawyer Tell Police, EFCC, Army Make Dem Copy DSS Welfare Policy for Officers

One Nigerian lawyer don call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigerian Army to adopt better compensation and welfare packages for their officers, similar to the one currently practised by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The lawyer make the appeal while reacting to the need for improved welfare for security personnel, saying officers wey dey risk their lives every day to protect Nigerians deserve better salaries, insurance, compensation and support for their families.

According to am, better welfare no go only boost the morale of security operatives but also reduce corruption, improve professionalism and encourage officers to carry out their duties with greater commitment.

The call come as Nigerians continue to raise concerns over the working conditions and welfare of many security personnel across the country. Over the years, labour unions, civil society organisations and security experts don repeatedly urge the Federal Government to prioritise the welfare of officers serving in different security agencies.

Reports by major news organisations like The Punch, Daily Trust, The Nation and Vanguard don consistently highlight the challenges security operatives face, including poor remuneration, inadequate insurance cover and delayed compensation for families of officers who die in active service.

The lawyer insist say if agencies like the Police, EFCC and the Nigerian Army adopt welfare and compensation policies similar to the DSS model, e go improve the performance of security agencies and strengthen the country’s fight against crime and insecurity.
