Kidnappers Increase Jowizaza’s Father’s Ransom Demand to N1.5bn, Cut Communication

Tension has reportedly escalated following the abduction of billionaire businessman Chief Joseph Ezeokafor, father of Nigerian socialite Jowizaza, as his abductors have allegedly increased their ransom demand from N700 million to N1.5 billion.

According to reports by Tribune and Arise News, the kidnappers have also reportedly stopped communicating with the businessman’s family after raising the demand.

Ezeokafor, founder of Jezco Oil and Jezco Group, was reportedly abducted in Awka, Anambra State, after he went to a prayer mountain without his usual security detail. Arise News, Daily Post and Pulse had earlier reported the alleged kidnapping.

The latest development has reportedly heightened anxiety among the family and associates, particularly following the sudden communication blackout.

The businessman’s reported abduction has continued to generate concern in his hometown of Ekwulobia, with earlier reports stating that the community postponed its annual New Yam Festival following the incident.

As of the latest reports, there has been no public confirmation of the businessman’s safe release, while efforts to establish communication with the abductors reportedly remain unsuccessful.
