British High Commission don talk say Edo State governorship election wey happen on Saturday dey largely peaceful, and dem dey call for calm after dem announce the results.
For statement wey dem release on Wednesday, the commission praise the people of Edo State for how dem take participate for the election and remind dem say peace still dey important.
All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Monday Okpebholo, win the election with 291,667 votes, wey beat Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Asue Ighodalo, wey get 247,274 votes. Olumide Akpata of Labour Party come third with 22,763 votes.
The UK commission advise say any party wey get wahala with the election result make dem use the proper legal way to sort the matter.
“Electoral and legal processes exist to address any challenges or disputes, and we encourage the authorities, including INEC, to examine all concerns transparently and in good faith,” dem add.
The UK government still yarn say dem go continue to support better elections for Nigeria and go dey monitor the situation for Edo State.
