The Rivers State Police Command has arrested two suspected members of the dreaded Iceland cult group accused of terrorising Ahoada East and its environs.

Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko said the suspects — Lovegod Goodluck, alias K1, and Precious Olumini — were lieutenants of the late cult leader Gift Okpara (popularly known as 2-Baba), who was linked to the 2023 killing of former Ahoada East DPO Bako Angbashim.

The suspects were arrested during separate operations, with firearms recovered from them. The state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, assured residents of continued efforts to ensure safety and urged public cooperation in fighting crime.
