Peter Obi is surprisingly not a bad person after all – El-Rufai son.

March 11, 2025

Following Malam Nasir El-Rufai’s defection to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), his son, Bashir El-Rufai, has taken to social media to share his political views and criticize the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a post on X, Bashir admitted that APC members had “poisoned” his mind against Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi. He tweeted, “Peter Obi is surprisingly not a bad person after all. My views on him have changed recently. My mind was poisoned by my former party members. Sai Obi!”

Bashir also urged young Nigerians to join SDP, announcing that an online platform for registration would be available by the end of the week.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, dismissed El-Rufai’s defection, calling it “an inordinate ambition destined to fail.” He argued that associating with “sore losers to unseat” Tinubu was neither ideological nor progressive.
