The Lagos State Public Works Corporation (LSPWC) don announce di repair and rehabilitation of over 393 roads across di state for di first six months of 2024.

Di General Manager of LSPWC, Tokunbo Ajanaku, na im reveal dis achievement for one statement wey dem release on Tuesday.

Ajanaku talk say di corporation take advantage of di dry days for di first and second quarters of 2024 to perform various maintenance and rehabilitation operations on strategic roads. Di work cover 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 27 Local Council Development Authorities (LCDAs). He also mention say work for inner roads go resume for di coming weeks.

“We dey mindful of di prediction say di volume of rainfall for 2024 fit pass wetin we see for di previous year,” Ajanaku talk. “Na why we increase our frequency and spread on Lagos roads to put most strategic roads for good condition before di heavy rains become recurrent.”

As he dey reflect on di corporation’s half-year performance, Ajanaku highlight say di interventions range from total reconstruction to major rehabilitation, routine maintenance, palliatives, and di fixing of inner roads within public facilities. He reveal say 15 roads wey dey under reconstruction don reach various stages of completion by June 2024.

Under major rehabilitation, dem complete 69 roads. Some of di notable roads include Lawson Street for Lagos Island East LCDA, Femi Bamgbelu for Alimosho, Lawal Street for Alimosho, Ora Ekpen for Kosofe, Olohunlogbon for Kosofe, Selesi Street for Bariga LCDA, Fatiregun Street for Lagos Mainland, Aborisade Street for Surulere, and Arigbanla Street for Agege.
