Lookman, Nwabali Enter Final Shortlist for CAF Awards; Ekong Miss Out

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman and goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali don enter final five-man shortlist for 2024 CAF Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year awards. But defender William Troost-Ekong no make am, even with him better performance for AFCON 2023.

CAF don announce the top five nominees for di men’s categories wey go dey for di awards wey go happen for December 16, for Marrakech, Morocco. Lookman, wey shine for Atalanta and Nigeria, dey for Player of the Year shortlist alongside Simon Adingra (Ivory Coast), Serhou Guirassy (Guinea), Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), and Ronwen Williams (South Africa).

For Goalkeeper of the Year category, Nwabali go face Williams, Manchester United keeper Andre Onana (Cameroon), Yahia Fofana (Ivory Coast), and Mostafa Shobeir (Egypt).

Former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro no enter Coach of the Year category, wey include AFCON-winning coach Emerse Fae (Ivory Coast) and four others. Nigeria still dey for National Team of the Year category with Ivory Coast, DR Congo, South Africa, and Sudan.
