Liverpool are making significant progress in their bid to sign Bayer Leverkusen right-back Jeremie Frimpong, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

In an update shared on Tuesday via X, Romano revealed that the Premier League club has begun formal discussions with Leverkusen to negotiate the structure of the Dutch defender’s €35 million release clause.

“Liverpool are advancing in talks to sign Jeremie Frimpong,” Romano stated, adding that talks are also ongoing with the player’s camp. Frimpong is reportedly enthusiastic about a potential move to Anfield.

The 23-year-old was a standout performer in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga-winning campaign and has attracted interest from several top European clubs.
