Havertz, Martinelli Injuries: Genuine Setback or Arsenal’s Tactics?

February 13, 2025

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes have taken a hit, with Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli set for extended spells on the sidelines due to hamstring injuries. Reports suggest Havertz, the club’s top scorer with 15 goals, has suffered a season-ending injury, while Martinelli is expected to miss over a month.

Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed Martinelli’s issue, stating, “He felt something. I think it was his hamstring, and he wasn’t comfortable to continue, so we have to have an MRI scan tomorrow to see the extent of the injury.”

With Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus also sidelined, Arsenal now face a depleted attack ahead of crucial fixtures against Leicester, West Ham, and Manchester United. The club’s failure to strengthen in the January transfer window adds to Arteta’s frustration, as he acknowledged, “We haven’t achieved it, so we are disappointed in that sense.”
