Chelsea are on the brink of finalizing a move for highly rated forward Liam Delap, with only the formal communication remaining before the transfer is officially confirmed. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, the Blues are prepared to activate Delap’s £30 million release clause, and are currently completing the final details of a long-term contract with the player’s representatives.
Romano noted that the influence of new head coach Enzo Maresca, coupled with the lure of UEFA Champions League football, played a key role in convincing Delap to choose Stamford Bridge.
“Chelsea are closing in on Liam Delap deal,” Romano stated, highlighting Maresca’s appreciation and the club’s European ambitions as decisive factors. Delap is now expected to complete the move, pending final formalities.
