Borussia Dortmund Sign Jobe Bellingham on Five-Year Deal

June 10, 2025

Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of English midfielder Jobe Bellingham from Sunderland on a five-year contract until 2030. The deal, reportedly worth €33 million plus €5 million in bonuses, was announced on Tuesday—the final day of the Club World Cup transfer window.

Jobe, 19, is the younger brother of Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, who also played for Dortmund between 2020 and 2023. The England U21 international expressed excitement about joining the Bundesliga club, saying he’s eager to compete for titles and grow with the team.

Dortmund Sporting Director Lars Ricken praised Jobe’s maturity and hunger for success, calling him a perfect fit for the club’s youth-focused philosophy.

Jobe, who scored four goals and provided three assists in 40 games for Sunderland this season, will wear “Jobe” on his jersey to distinguish himself from his brother. The move raises the prospect of a brotherly showdown at the upcoming Club World Cup in the U.S., where Dortmund could face Real Madrid in the knockout rounds.

Dortmund begin their Club World Cup campaign against Fluminense on June 17.
