German Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen have officially named Erik ten Hag as their new head coach. The Dutchman has signed a contract running until June 2027, replacing Xabi Alonso, who recently stepped down after a successful domestic campaign.

“Let’s get started! Erik ten Hag signs with Bayer 04 as our new head coach until 2027!” the club announced via X on Monday.

The 54-year-old, previously linked as the leading candidate for the position, takes charge on a two-year deal through the 2026/27 season.
